End Polio Now District Chair to Speak
Carol Wells, End Polio Now - District Chair, will speak to the Club on Friday September 16th about Rotary International's EPN initiative.
Carol will provide insight into Rotary's strategy and on-going efforts to eradicate Polio.
She has traveled to Nigeria taking part in National Immunization Day, as well as, participating in Stop Transmission of Polio (STOP) training conducted at the Center for Disease Control in June.
Beginning in 1979, Rotary has worked with other organizations to eradicate polio. Since the original vaccination program in the Philippines, cases of polio have been reduced by 99.9 percent worldwide.
