In Dubuque, Iowa I was invited to my first Rotary meeting in 2004.   I was hooked on the philosophy of, "Service Above Self" and have remained a member ever since.  When I moved to Lake Zurich, Illinois in 2019, one of the first things I did was to look for a Rotary Club to which I could become a member.   By far, one of the chief draws is the people within the organization and the individuals with whom I serve.  One of the great events in which I was involved is "Operation Warm."   To see the smiles on the faces of the children after they receive a new coat is very heartwarming.  In the past, I have hosted adult educators and business entrepreneurs from Poland and Italy into my home.  It was fascinating to learn of the challenges and successes they have had in their country and the many similar experiences we as Americans have shared as well.  It is truly a small world.

I have been affiliated in healthcare for the past 48 years.  First as a respiratory therapist then a nursing home administrator. I have always enjoyed working with people and even now in my retirement years, I work on a per diem basis at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.  I enjoy volunteering in the community and continue to do so through Rotary.  I currently serve as the secretary for the Lake Zurich Club.  My personal pursuits include tennis, trap shooting, and daily workouts at the gym.  Staying healthy in mind and body helps me continue my endeavors with Rotary and in my personal life.
