On Monday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m., Lake Zurich resident and community service volunteer Shari Gullo will tell Lake Zurich Rotary what she's been doing to bring a "Peace Pole" to Lake Zurich. The Ela Township board recently gave its support for the project. The inspirational illuminated sculpture will have "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in English on one side and "peace" in the over 60 languages spoken by District 95 on the other sides, plus include sign language and Braille. The peace pole will be 20' tall and made of stainless steel from which each word will be cut. The peace pole will be lit from within and, Shari says, will be like a beacon of peace along Lake Zurich's Main Street.
