Gregg Heineman, team leader for the Southwest Lake County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be speaking at the lunch meeting of Lake Zurich Rotary Club on Friday. CERT is is a group of volunteers trained to aid first responders in situations where emergency services are already stretched to the limit. Among the services they provide is search and rescue, traffic control, first aid, and victim removal.
Gregg is a resident of Hawthorn Woods and the owner of Conway Imports, Inc., a five-generation family in food service. “I got involved with CERT after 9/11,” Gregg says. “I wanted to do something to give back to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice on that day and to support those people who keep my family and community safe on a daily basis.”
