DEER PARK AUTHOR JIM PROBSTLE TO SPEAK

Jim Proebstle, a popular speaker at our club a few years ago stops by this Friday to discuss his newest book.
imageUnintended Impact: One Athlete's Journey from Concussions in Amateur Football to CTE Dementia is a creative, non-fiction story capturing the tragic and complex struggle of a star athlete's life as a byproduct of concussions received in high school and college football. While players, parents and coaches are past the period of not knowing of the danger of concussions, this story is an imperative reminder of the long-term impact of concussions that cannot be ignored. Football has major benefits for players in growing as adults and accepting responsibilities, which only underscores the increased need for player safety.

Jim Proebstle’s first two novels have received outstanding reviews from readers and industry professionals. They have been recognized with awards from the Eric Hoffer Award, the Indie Book Award, and the International Book Award.

He and his wife, Carole, live in Deer Park, IL and call northern Minnesota home for the summer months.
