This Sunday: We run the Special Olympics Baseball Throw/Tennis Ball Throw!

On Sunday, May 6, the Rotary Club of Lake Zurich will be sponsoring the Tennis Ball/Softball Throw for the Special Olympics Area 13 Spring Games.

Where:
Lake Zurich High School, 300 Church St., Lake Zurich
When: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What's Needed: Volunteers for a Heart-Warming Job!

The Lake Zurich Rotary Club, Interact, and Cognizant will be supplying all the volunteers to run that event.

You are welcome to join us at 8:30 a.m. at the field east of the stadium.  Please contact lzrotary@gmail.com to volunteer.  Volunteers will guide the athletes to their competition areas, measure throws and retrieve balls. Youth ages 14 and above, as well as adults, may volunteer.

Athletes compete in divisions by gender and ability levels.  To compete in the Special Olympics Illinois Area Spring Games, athletes must train for eight weeks. Athletes who win a gold medal at these Area games qualify to compete in the Special Olympics Illinois State Summer Games to be held in June.
