In honor of World Polio Day, a presentation about surviving polio and a display of a real iron lung will take place at the Ela Area Public Library, 275 Mohawk Trail, Lake Zurich at 7 p.m. on Thursday October 17.  Polio survivor Ray [first name only] will speak about being paralyzed from the neck down at age 4.  Ray then spent six months in an iron lung in order to breathe.  He will talk about how he overcame the disease and his disability to successfully graduate college, get married and have a son.  See the Rotary's Iron Lung Education Exhibit in front of the library before or after the presentation.  Sponsored by the Lake Zurich Rotary Club.
